John D. Antone

Based in the USA and Europe, Antone’s sculpture is collected internationally. He is from a family of artists and artists at heart. Born in Washington, DC he majored in sculpture at Virginia Commonwealth University -still ranked #1 in sculpture- by US News & World Report. Afterwards, Antone was bestowed a full scholarship for graduate study at California Institute of the Arts where John Baldessari, world renowned conceptual artist was the teacher that most influenced him.

He has had many exhibitions in established galleries in Europe and the US. Currently, Atelje Galerija in Slovenia and Stefan Bartsch in Munich exhibit his work. He was the first US artist ever invited to exhibit in the 25 year history of the European Mission’s international cultural programs in Brussels. Grant honors include: CEC ArtsLink Fellowship, Virginia Museum Foundation Professional Fellowship and a Fulbright Grant arranged by the US Department of State. Currently, Antone looks forward to being an artist in residence in Paris at Cite des Arts in 2016. Contact:
