In 1964, shortly after the Inter-American Development Bank (IDB) was established in 1959, a group of bank employees created the Staff Association. To this day, the Association’s objective is to represent the interests of the employees and promote activities for their well-being, including in the cultural, social, and sports fields.

Among the Association’s initial projects emerged the idea of creating a space to disseminate the various expressions of contemporary art from the Bank’s member countries. This is how the IDB Staff Association Art Gallery was born.

During its more than sixty years of existence, the Gallery has exhibited the work of a diverse range of artists, from emerging talents to renowned designers, painters, engravers, tapestry artists, photographers, sculptors, and ceramists. This includes internationally famous artists such as Marta Minujin and Nicolas Garcia Uriburu from Argentina and Miguel Angel De Vita from Uruguay, among many others, showcasing the rich diversity of talent from our member countries.

United by our passion for art, we are a group of employees and an external curator dedicated to sharing the exceptional contemporary artists exhibited at the IDB Staff Association Art Gallery with as many people as possible.
